SPA CARE GUIDE

ALWAYS HAVE THE CIRCULATION SYSTEM RUNNING BEFORE ADDING ANY CHEMICALS.

ALWAYS DISSOLVE CHEMICALS IN A BUCKET OF WATER BEFORE ADDING TO SPA.

-----------------------------SPA START-UP -------------------------------
Step 1. As spa is being filled through filter housing, add 3 oz. PROTECT PLUS to prevent any mineral staining and scale formation and to protect spa equipment. If your source water is high in iron you may need to double or even triple initial dose of PROTECT PLUS. Always fill your spa with "hard" water.
Step 2. Circulate Water for 2 hours to remove iron and minerals.
Step 3. Test water for alkalinity and pH levels using a dip and read test strip. Follow instructions on test strip bottle label.
a. If pH is lower than 7.2, add pH-UP in 1 Tbls per dose amounts.
b. If pH is higher than 7.8, add pH-DOWN in 1 Tbls per dose amounts.
c. If total alkalinity is above 120 PPM, add pH-DOWN in 1 Tbls per dose amounts.
d. If total alkalinity is below 80 PPM, add ALKALINITY-UP in 1 Tbls per dose amounts.
You may need to add multiple doses to adjust pH and Alkalinity. If that is the case always circulate the water for at least 2 hours between tests. This may take several days to balance on the initial fill-up. Keep a record of how much pH and Alkalinity adjusters you use. On subsequent fill-ups you can speed the process by increasing the doses depending on the amount you used on the initial fill-up.
Step 4. Fill automatic dispenser or add 3 BROMINE TABLETS to the strainer basket.
Step 5. Add 1 packet of BROMA-START

----------------------------- ROUTINE MAINTENANCE----------------------
Step 1. Test water using dip and read test strips at least 3 times per week. If needed, balance pH and Alkalinity. Check for Bromine residual of 3-5 PPM and add BROMINE TABLETS to the strainer basket or automatic dispenser as needed. Follow the instructions on the test strip bottle.
Step 2. Add 1 oz. of PROTECT PLUS weekly to protect spa equipment from stains, scale and corrosion.
Step 3. Shock treat water with 4 - 5 oz. of ACTIVATE weekly to oxidize contaminants from your spa.
Also 1 oz after heavy use is recommended.
Step 4. If bromine tests on low side before using spa add 1 tsp granular chlorine after using spa.
Step 5. To digest oils, lotions and other organic material in the water, remove scum lines, and to protect filters from oily build-up and clogging add 1/2 oz. of NATURAL CLEAR per week during periods of heavy use.
