CleanZone II Overview

Benefits

  • Instantly kills bacteria, germs and parasites.
  • 100% of the water entering the UV chamber is sanitized (within 1-3 seconds) before leaving the chamber and returning to the spa.
  • UV does not add any chemical to the pool water.
  • Eliminates health hazards associated with chemical byproducts.
  • UV has the ability to produce a photo-oxidation effect that destroys chloramines and other toxic by-products of chlorine. This results in much less chlorine needed to be used for bacterial control.
  • Protects against Recreational Water Illness (RWI).
  • Enables up to a 75% reduction in chemicals and treats the water to drinking water quality standards.

Ultraviolet purification technology has been in use for decades in the aquaculture, medical, food processing and water treatment industries.

Using a high out-put UV lamp to destroy bacteria followed by a powerful ozonator for effective oxidation; creates the ultimate in water treatment technology.

*UV-C sanitizer is a highly efficient, broad spectrum sanitizer.

*Ozone:  Ultraviolet light reacts with oxygen to produce ozone gas.  Main function is to oxidize (burn off) waste produced from sanitation.

Since 1944, NSF International, an independant, not for profit organization, has been committed to making the world a safer place for consumers.  The Pool and Spa equipment Program works with a voluntary standard (NSF/ANSI Standard 50) that represents a consensus of manufacturers, users, and regulatory authorities worldwide.

In accordance to Section 13 of the NSF/ANSI Standard 50 for Pool and Spa water treatment, the standard only requires the following residual chemicals levels in swimming pools and spas/hot tubs with the use of a properly installed UV system”

*1 ppm free chlorine

*2 ppm bromine

*20mg/L hydrogen peroxide

*UV is required by the US Public Health Service to provide a 99.9% minimum kill rate to produce Class A (Drinking) water. And, UV does the job better than any other single form of sanitation technology.

*“Norovirus is a virus that takes about 30 to 60 minutes to become deactivated in an adequately chlorinated pool”

*“Hot Tub Lung is a disease associated with Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) growing in hot tub water. Hot tubs provide an excellent growth environment for MAC; the warm temperature promotes growth. At temperatures higher than 84 degrees Fahrenheit, chlorine loses much of its disinfectant properties

Dr. Rickman of the Mayo Clinic Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.

“The EPA has raised skin absorption of chlorine to its top 10 carcinogen watch list.”
